Ann Wessler's Story Behind the Song captures her penchant for melody,
rhyme, banjo-lickin' and guitar-pickin' goodness. The 11-song disc
features a who's who of Alaskan bluegrass, jam band and folk musicians,
all engineered on a backdrop of violin, mandolin, and banjo compliment.
Wessler's deep alto and Laura Hall's background vocals add rich
texturing - breathing life into the simple, stripped down album's
acoustic melancholy. The opening track, "I Sing This Song For
You" and the bouncy melody of "Children of the Earth"
are great songs and a good intro to Wessler's music if you haven't
seen her already performing at a variety of locations around town.
